Confession: my mom still makes me an Easter basket every year. It fills me with nostalgia and I absolutely love it! With my mom as my inspiration, I started a new tradition a few years back of giving Easter baskets to my closest friends. What adult doesn’t want a cute basket filled with candy??? I paired up with Mars/Wrigley Easter at Walmart to create a DIY basket that’s not only adorable but that’s filled with tasty treats!
This bunny basket is created using a simple crochet pattern. A single crochet is used which makes the basket study and able to keep it’s shape without any insert. Translation: you can totally weight it down with candy and it will still look great! The basket can be made in an evening. Thoughtful gifts that don’t take a lot of time to make are definitely a “win win”
I purchased all the supplies for this project at Walmart
. Walmart is pretty amazing in my book because it’s the only store (at least in my next of the woods) where you can purchase groceries and craft supplies. The ultimate in one stop shopping! Walmart has a huge selection of Easter goodies and decorations. I filled my basket with SNICKERS® Bunny Cane and Starburst® Funsize Canes. These canes are perfect for peeking out of the top. I also used M&M’S Peanut Chocolate Candy which comes in festive pastels colors. Lastly, no Easter basket is complete without a chocolate bunny. I used this DOVE® Milk Chocolate Bunny which tastes even better than it looks!
