The vibrant colors in this self striping yarn were too pretty to pass up! I decided to knit a very basic beanie to showcase the stripes. This yarn is worsted weight which makes it perfect for this transitional time of year!
Yarn: Lion Brand Landscapes (1 skein)
Size US 8 Knitting needles (single point)
Cast on 72 sts. Work in K2 P2 ribbing for 1 ½ inches. Switch to Stockinette stitch and knit until piece measures 6 inches from the beginning. On next Knit row- (Dec row): K1, K2 tog K1*. *repeat until end of row (48 sts). Next row: Purl. Dec row: K1, K2 tog K1*. *repeat until last 2 stitches. Knit last 2 stitches together (32 sts). Next row: Purl.
Dec row: K2 until end of row (16 sts). Next row: Purl. Dec row: K2 until end of row (16 sts)
Next row: Purl. Last Dec row: K2 until end of row (8 sts) Cut yarn leaving a long end for seaming.
