When it comes to baby clothes and accessories I can't resist anything animal-related! To save time and make this project beginner friendly I hand sewed the bear face on instead of going the Intarsia route. Hope you like it!
Supplies:
Lion's Pride Woolspun yarn in Coffee (1 skein)
Size 10 ½ US knitting needles
Large pom pom maker
Black, white, tan felt
Needle & thread
Pattern:
Circumference of hat: 16 inches (age 6-9 months)
Cast on 44 stitches. Work in K1 P1 ribbing for 1 ½ inches. Switch to stockinette stitch and work until piece measures 7 inches from the beginning. To shape crown-
Knit 2 together, repeat across row
Next row: Purl
Next row: K1, K2 together across row
Next row: Purl
Next row: K1, K2 together across row
Next row: Purl
Next row: Knit 2 together, repeat across row
Cut yarn, leaving an 8 in. tail. Thread tail through stitches of last row and pull to secure. Use the tail to sew the side seam together.
