Bow hat [knitting pattern]

While browsing around online I came across this cute hat. I think the bow on top is a great alternative to a pom pom! I decided to switch up the design a bit by adding the wide ribbing. I hope you like it!
Pattern
Yarn- Patons Classic Wool in New Denim

Needles- Size US 8
Cast on 72 stitches 
Row 1 (Wrong Side):
*Purl 3, knit 3; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 3.
Row 2 (Right Side):
*Knit 3, purl 3; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 3.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 9 1/2 inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row
To shape the crown 
Row 1 (Right Side):
*Knit 2, purl 2 together; repeat from *
Row 2 (Wrong Side)
*Purl 2, knit 1; repeat from *
Row 3:
*Knit 2, purl 1; repeat from *
Row 4:
Repeat Row 2.
Next Row:
*Knit 2 together, purl 1; repeat from *
Next Row:
Knit 1, purl 1 to end.
Next Row:
*Knit 2 together; repeat from * to end
Next Row:
Purl.
Last Row:
*Knit 2 together; repeat from * to end. Cut yarn leaving a long end for seaming.

Bow-
Cast on 30 stitches
Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 5 inches. Bind off.

[Fold the edges of the bow over and stitch down- this will help hold the shape]
[Pinch the middle together to create a bow. Using a piece of yarn, tie a tight knot and then sew on to the top of the hat]
