DIY faux agate coasters

July 7, 2014

I love agate but slices can be expensive, especially ones that are large enough to use as coasters (like these from Shopbop). Here’s how to make faux agate coasters for a fraction of the cost!

Supplies (makes 4)-

  •  4 packs of Sculpey clay (1 pack of translucent and 3 packs of shades of blue)
[Take the entire package of translucent clay and form it into a ball]
[Shape the ball into a log]
[Roll out a section of the light blue clay and wrap it around the translucent]
[Keep rolling out new sections of clay and wrapping them around the translucent]
[Cut the clay into 1/2 thick slices using a sharp knife. Then roll out to make larger and bake according to the instructions on the package]
