runway hair [nyfw fall ’14]

February 14, 2014
[Marc by Marc Jacobs- I loved this sophisticated yet sporty take on pigtails. The placement at the back of the head keeps it from looking juvenile]
[Proenza Schouler- Middle parts have been popular lately, but let’s face it- they’re not the most flattering style for many faces. Deep side parts like these are much easier to wear. Bonus- they’re great for growing out bangs because you can just clip them to the side]
[Rag & Bone- This messy ponytail is a great way to add edge to a refined outfit. To achieve- tease hair a bit a the crown. Make a low ponytail and take a section from the pony and wrap around and pull through the elastic]
[Jason Wu- Business in the front, part in the back! To re-create this style at home- tease and then smooth out the hair around your crown. Take the sections in the back and twist then and then pin in place]
[Diane von Furstenberg- I’m glad to see the classic bun is taking the place of all those puffed up top knots. To keep it from looking too “done” forgo product and keep the bun on the looser side]
