diy crochet hair ties

February 3, 2014

These crochet hair elastics are a great way to dress up your plain hair ties. They take about 10 minutes to make and require basic crochet skills.

  • Crochet hook
  • Hair elastic
  • Worsted wight yarn
[Tie a double knot around the elastic]
[Make a single crochet around the elastic]
[Continue making single crochet stitches all around the elastic]
[Make sure you have enough stitches on the elastic so that when the elastic is stretched you can’t see it]
[When you reach the starting point make a Double Crochet all around the elastic]
[When you are finished, tie a knot and weave the end into the stitches to hide it]
