chicken coop from recycled pallets

[The finished coop with fencing and found wood ramp]
While pet sitting for my brother recently my boyfriend Robert and I became quite attached to these 4 fluffy chickens known as Silkies. When my brother said we could have them I was thrilled and Robert set to work building a coop and pen for our new pets. All of the wood (except the fence posts) is from pallets procured for free from our local hardware store. We were lucky enough to find pallets that were high quality wood and in great shape. Robert didn’t use plans and made the design up as he went along. He worked really hard and I think it turned out wonderfully! One of our favorite things to do now is to sit on the patio with our morning coffee and watch the chickens in the yard.
