diy phone book coasters

April 15, 2013

I always get a little peeved when I find a phone book on my doorstep. With the prevalence of computers and smart phones, who still goes digging through a giant phone book to find a number? I decided to upcycle my phone book into something I’d actually use- coasters!

  • Phone book
  • Mod Podge
  • Ruler
  • Acrylic poster paint

[Cut 8 pages into 1 1/2″ strips (this will make 1 coaster). Fold the top and bottom in towards the middle]
[Fold in half lengthwise]
[Tightly roll the strip up into a ball, brushing some Mod Podge along it as you go]
[To add another strip to the roll, just brush Mod Podge on the edge and start rolling]
[Keep adding strips and sealing with Mod Podge along the way- make sure you are rolling tightly]
[Once your coaster is the desired size, let the Mod Podge dry. Then paint the top and bottom and seal the whole thing with Mod Podge]
