Baby Pumpkin Hat [knitting pattern]

October 12, 2015

I love all things Fall, so I couldn’t resist making a pumpkin hat for my little guy! This hat is great for newbie knitters because it requires no decreasing. If you can knit a scarf you can make this hat!
Age- 6-9 months
Gauge  4 sts= 1 inch
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft (1 skein), Vanna’s Choice Chocolate, Vanna’s Choice Kelly Green
Needles: size US 7 knitting needles
Pattern:

[Cast on 60 stitches. Work in K2, P2 ribbing until piece measures 7 inches. Switch to brown color and knit another 1 1/2 inches. Bind off]
[Fold in half and sew side seam]
[Crochet an 8 inch long chain]
[Tie tightly around the top of the hat and make a bow]
Follow(function(d, s, id) {var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if (d.getElementById(id)) return;js = d.createElement(s);js.id = id;js.src = “https://widget.bloglovin.com/assets/widget/loader.js”;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, “script”, “bloglovin-sdk”))
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);

    THANK YOU for sharing this hat! It is so adorable, and as a newbie knitter, I seriously appreciate that it's worked flat! My friends are having a baby soon so I can't wait to whip this up for their little pumpkin!

      Is possible to run through live stitches and then sew the rest?

    As one that hates to sew things together, I prefer to use four needles and knit in the round. Works just as well and just as easy to knit.
