Gold Leaf Hat Knitting Pattern

September 3, 2015

I totally fell in love with this yarn when I saw it! It has bits of gold leaf (and silver on the grey color) embellishing the strands. I like how it’s shimmery but not over the top. The yarn is super bulky and it makes for a quick knit. This Gold Leaf Hat knitting pattern features a ribbed design topped with a fluffy pom pom.

Yarn: Lion Brand Gold Leaf in grey silver and white gold
Size US 13 straight knitting needles

Gold Leaf Hat Knitting Pattern

Cast on 48 stitches with the silver grey color (switch colors every 5 rows to make the stripes)
Rows 1-25: Work 25 rows in k2, p2 Rib.
Row 26 (Dec Row): *K1, K2tog, K1; rep from * across row  Row 27 (Dec Row): *K2tog* across row. Row 28 (Dec Row): *K1, K2tog, K1; rep from* across row Row 29 (Dec Row): K2tog across row, knit last stitch. Cut yarn, leaving an 10 in. tail. Thread tail through stitches of last row and pull to secure. Use the tail to sew the side seam together. Make and attach pom pom. (I made a striped pom pom by winding the white yarn around the arms of the pom pom maker first and then adding the grey)
