How to Upcycle an Old Cardigan Sweater [Part 1- Mittens]

November 17, 2014

Over the next few days I’m going to show you how to upcycle an old sweater into 3 new projects. The first DIY is turning the sleeves into mittens. This is so easy and it only takes 10 minutes!
Supplies:
Old sweater
Mittens to trace
Sewing machine

[Place your mitten at the cuff of the sleeve (I left a few inches at the bottom so my new mittens would be longer) and cut around it. You will be cutting through both sides of the sleeve]
[Once the mitten is cut out, cut out another one on the other sleeve. You should have 4 pieces total]
[Turn the mitten inside out and stitch around the sides and hand]
