Missoni inspired beanie [knitting pattern]

I love all things Missoni. As soon as I saw this beanie I knew I had to knit my own version! This pattern is great for beginners and the thick yarn and big needles make it a fast project.
Pattern
Yarn  Loops & Threads Charisma in Lakeside (1 skein) and Royal (1 skein)

Size US 10 1/2 needles
Cast on 52 stitches with the Lakeside Yarn
Row 1 (Wrong Side):
*Purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, purl 2.
Row 2 (Right Side):
*Knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 4 1/2 inches and then switch to the Royal yarn and work until pieces measures 10 inches from beginning, ending with a wrong side row
To shape the crown 
Row 1 (Right Side):
*Knit 2, purl 2 together; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2 – 41 stitches.
Row 2 (Wrong Side)
*Purl 2, knit 1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches.
Row 3:
*Knit 2, purl 1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches.
Row 4:
Repeat Row 2.
Next Row:
*Knit 2 together, purl 1; repeat from * to last 2 stitches – 27 stitches.
Next Row:
Knit 1, purl 1 to end.
Next Row:
*Knit 2 together; repeat from * to end – 14 stitches.
Next Row:
Purl.
Last Row:
*Knit 2 together; repeat from * to end – 7 stitches. Cut yarn leaving a long end for seaming.
