diy fast & easy stripe cowl [knitting pattern]

January 13, 2014

Sorry about the absence! I took a few weeks off from blogging after the holidays to work on other projects. It’s great to be back! This stripe cowl is pretty simple to make and can be finished in an evening.
Pattern
Yarn- I skein Lions Brand Homespun (Painted Desert), 1 skein Lions Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (Sequoia)
Needles- US size 13 circular
Cast on 46 stitches using the Homespun yarn. Mark each row with a row marker. Work in stockinette stitch for 10 rows. Switch to the Thick & Quick yarn and work in stockinette stitch for 5 rows. Repeat 10 more rows with the Homespun yarn, 5 more rows with the Thick and Quick yarn and Homespun (for a total of 35 rows). Bind off.

Oh my! You're correct. I added it up wrong. Thanks for pointing out the error. I just fixed the pattern.

I'm a newbie as well and this looks like something I could and would enjoy.

Is this knitted in the round? Otherwise, it would have to be sewn together and I don't see a mention of that. Thank you!

You should use a row marker to mark the end of a row. I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that instead of assuming that everyone knows!

Was this supposed to be the thicker Homespun or the regular? I purchased the regular, and it doesn't look quite the same. Also, I had to use a shorter circular in order to do it in the round. I couldn't get it going on the 29" ones. I even added 10 stitches, and still had to reduce the length.
