diy anthropologie hawley bracelet

March 12, 2013

This DIY is inspired by the Anthropologie Hawley Bracelet. The Anthropologie version uses ceramic tube beads. I couldn’t find any inexpensive ones so I substituted vintage macrame beads.
Supplies:

  • Rope
  • Neon embroidery floss
  • Large beads
  • Needle & thread
[Measure a length of rope that can fit around your wrist 2 times. This bracelet rolls on and off so make sure it is loose enough to fit over your hand. Put tape on the ends of the rope to prevent fraying]
[String on the beads]
[Take the end of the rope and string it through the beads a second time]
[Sew the ends of the rope together, the slide the bead over the stitching to cover it up]
[Using a needle, thread the embroidery under part of the rope and make a knot]
[Wrap the embroidery floss around the rope. Keep it taught and try not to overlap]
[Once you reached the desired length, make a knot and cut the thread]
[Repeat the wrapping process with a few other colors]
[The variations of this bracelet are endless. Here’s another one I made using rope I dyed]
