This hair style creates the illusion of having a single long braid wrapped around your hair. This is achieved by making a braid, adding new strands to the top only and twisting it around your hair. Your hair doesn’t need to be as long as mine to do this style, 5-6 inches past the shoulder should suffice. I braided my hair while it was dry but it really is easier if it’s slightly damp.
This You Tube video I made will show you the basic technique. A new strand of hair is only added to the top strand. You have to guide the braid in the direction you’d like it to go.
[Starting at your temple, section off a small amount of hair and begin under braiding. Add new hair to the top strands only. Try to keep the new strands you add on the thin side]
[Braid in a back-downward motion until you have a shape that looks similar to this]
[Wrap the braid around from the back of your neck to the front]
[Add new strands and work in a sideways motion]
[Once you are finished, repeat until you near the ends of your hair. If you have short hair you may only be able to get one wrap done]
[Finish off by under braiding the ends- you don’t have to add any new strands. Secure with an elastic]
[This is pretty challenging. It took me several tries to get it right. I really like the effect though and best of all it stays in place securely!]
