This DIY Lanvin necklace is fast and fairly easy to re-create. For the silk, I cut up a thrifted blouse. Silk fabric is pricey so using a secondhand blouse is a great way to cut down on the cost of materials. I had most of these supplies already so the only I had to purchase was the spray paint ($4).
Supplies:
  • silver chain
  • gold spray paint or craft paint (cheaper)
  • silk (my piece was 22 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide. You can also use smaller pieces and sew them together)
  • lighter
  • needle & thread

[Spray the ends of the necklace with the gold paint. Let dry]
[Using a lighter burn all around the edges of the silk. Do this outdoors- the silk gives off an order when burned. It’s normal for the fabric to catch the flame, just blow it out. When you are finished take a paper towel and wipe all around the edges to remove any soot]
[On the reverse side of the fabric, pinch a small section up near the end and and sew through it. I continued to pinch up small sections near the original and joined them together. After you start the flower, you can play around with it and see what looks best]
    [The finished flower]
[Sew the flower on to the chain, then wear & enjoy!]
